VirtualMed Iowa offers full-spectrum primary care — both in-office in North Ames and virtually across Iowa — with a special focus on women’s health and pediatrics.

Founded by Rachel Frederick, PA-C, an experienced physician assistant and mom, our clinic makes healthcare more personal, accessible, and consistent for busy families.

With over 12 years of experience in pediatrics, acute care, and family medicine, Rachel is passionate about building lasting relationships and helping patients feel heard and understood. We care for everyday health concerns — coughs, colds, constipation, sleep, lactation, and more — as well as women’s health needs like contraception, midlife care, and hormone support.

For kids, we provide both preventive and sick care, ensuring continuity when appointments elsewhere aren’t available.

Whether you prefer the convenience of virtual visits or the connection of in-person care, we’re here to make healthcare simple, supportive, and centered around you.

Instead of waiting days to get into the pediatrician, we were able to see Rachel the same day. Rachel really listens and provides the best care!
